Infinity Heart Productions' NTSC Color Calculator applet requires Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.3 or later and the "Java Plug-in". Your browser may only have internal support for JRE 1.0 or JRE 1.1. But you can still view the NTSC Color Calculator applet if your browser can support the Java Plug-in.
If you do not have JRE 1.3 or later and the Java Plug-in installed on your system, the first time you execute IHP’s NTSC Color Calculator, you may be given the opportunity to download and install these components. Please refer to the Java Plug-in online Web site for more detailed information.
If you would like to see how 'video color space' and 'computer color space' relate to each other, please view our QuickTime VR color space model.
NOTE 1: The download of the Java Plug-in and JRE will be between 6 and 8 megabytes.
NOTE 2: The Java Plug-in, as of this writing, was available for Windows 95/98, NT, Solaris, HP-UX, Linux and some other vendor’s versions of Unix. For other operating systems, you may need check with the OS vendor for the availability of the plug-in and JRE 1.3 or later.
NETSCAPE USER NOTE: Netscape versions 4.x and 6.x are not completely compatible with JRE 1.3.1-02. With this version of the plug-in installed, the sliders on the color calculator's main display will not cause the color sample boxes to update. Instead, use the "Color->Choose->" pull-down menu on the applet to access a color chooser. JRE versions up to JRE 1.3.1 worked properly with Netscape browsers.
